Music/ Keepsake Box

Quilted Maple

January 2012

This is a small keepsake box of quilted maple with a music movement in it.  I built this for a friend's daughter's 9th birthday.

She got a Boston terrier for Christmas so I thought this picture would be cool for the top of the lid. I acquired the photo from morguefile.com from 'itshears'.  The Morguefile is a great place to find free stock photos for projects without violating someone's copyright.  Yours truly has a few files shared there as well.

I found this quote and thought it fit the project theme so I burned it into the bottom of the lid...

While I had the burner out I burned an inscription in the bottom of the box as well...

Gettin' close to done...

Pics of the finished project...

The interior showing the music movement and the velvet lined compartment.  The box plays How Great Thou Art (PLAY SAMPLE)...
